So this week we are going to make some sauces. In this series, today we will make tomato and basil sauce. Especially this sauce used for pasta. So lets’ start 🙂
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2-4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 7-8 chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp crushed chili flakes
- 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tsp sugar
- Bunch of basil leaves, torn into small pieces
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
Directions:
- Heat the oil in a saucepan and cook the onion and garlic until they softened.
- Add tomatoes, chili flakes, vinegar, and sugar cook slowly 45-60 minutes
- Add some basil leaves and salt to taste
- Yup it’s done
This sauce is often left chunky or blended for a smooth sauce. As you wish ðŸ‘
